Top 5 Drugstore: Face

After a friend recently asked me for advice on what make up she could add to her basic routine I got inspired to add a bit of beauty back into this little blog.
I only really use drugstore brands as I find I can generally find what I’m looking for. So I thought I would share my top 5 face, eyes and lip products in a 3 part series.

Up first is the face products! I’ve tried to put a product for every category in here. I realise there is no concealer but I don’t think I’ve found one I love yet.

1. Sleek Blushes – these are something that I see a lot of bloggers and YouTuber’s raving about and I admit I only have a small collection but they are ones that I reach for all the time. They go on so easily and flawlessly. Even though the colours might look quite strong in the packaging they’re not too bold and can give a light cover or be built up.

2. Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation – I’d always been a rimmel foundation kind of girl and whilst I still love them this has taken the lead in my eyes. It is a light weight foundation but it gives a good coverage and a lovely finish. It also isn’t matte but it isn’t overly dewy and as I have combination skin that is important to me.
3. Real Techniques Brushes – These are a new discovery for me I’d heard so much about them that I almost didn’t believe the hype but when I saw them on offer recently I decided I’d give some of the face brushes a go. I actually forgot to photograph the expert sponge which I love for applying foundation. Despite not having them for very long but they have become my favourite brushes and the blush brush is especially nice with the sleek foundations!
4. No7 Instant Illusions Primer – I haven’t really tried a lot of primers so I don’t know how this would rate amongst others however I find that this one is really good. It helps my make-up look smother and it helps it last.
5. Bourjois Bronzing Powder – Again this is something that I’d heard a lot about and been reluctant to try but finally gave in a few weeks ago. I wouldn’t say this is the best bronzer for doing a deep contour however it does give a good amount of colour to my pale skin.

Hope you’ve liked this! Make sure to come back next Tuesday for part 2 and comment any posts you would like to see.
