I think I've mentioned a few times in the past that I'm
trying to grow my hair and even though I've been trying to do this for a while
now I've never really actually tried very hard. I was bleaching the ends of my
hair on and off and just generally using a lot of heat and dying it way more
than I should.
So over the past month I took a look at what I was using on
my hair and have re-thought a lot of the products and styling tools I was
using. I'm planning on doing quite a few hair related posts as I work through
my hair routine and things I do to care for my hair.
For today though I thought I’d share the specific products I'm
using with the aim of promoting hair growth. I’m not sure I believe there’s a
magic product to make hair grow but I do believe that the products you use can
help give hair a healthy chance to maximise its growing potential.
In the shower
Every
week I use a mask for at least one hour and if I can I use it overnight to give
maximum moisture to my hair. I also make sure that I put this mostly in the
ends but also put a little in the roots as that is where your hair grows from.
I have normal-dry hair so I can get away with this but it may not be a good
idea if you have oily hair.
I
brought main’n’tail shampoo because I know it’s supposed to help hair growth
and have seen some good reviews of it on-line so I thought I would give it a go
and see if it helped. I decided to just get the shampoo though because I have
enough conditioners already. If it works though I may get the conditioner next
time.ProductsThe
products I use are all pretty much to keep moisture in my hair and help with
the fact that the ends of my hair are dry from past bleaching. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqmMZ1BSqBj_OPUDW7ITuKol7rFBEtgEVLO_Uqt3IFb7CWhUFUxdZ4d0orSdev20HJPVh8ST4am6KmpGlg_nhLqzS9iWuto5xRLxZApq69aPL5LIwFpjJi_A2Ivm4-XBsdqjodsykqqR8/s1600/IMG_8789.jpg)

Vitamins
Recently
I’ve been hearing a lot about Biotin and how it’s really good for your hair and
I decided to give it a go. You can take up to 4 of these a day but I only take
2 because I know they can dry out your skin and cause breakouts so I want to
start on a small dose and if I carry on taking them I may up the dose. A
lot of the products in this post are new things added to my routine so I do
plan on reviewing them once I’ve had a chance to properly try them out.In
addition to these products I have actually banned myself from using heat on my
hair and dying my hair for 2 months (I’ve set alarms on my phone so I know when
this is up). This is partly to help my hair be healthier but also to prove to
myself I can do this.I’m
going to try to keep this routine for those 2 months and then I will update you
when the 2 months are over.Sorry
this post has become a bit of a ramble but hey ho that’s just how it goes!
