Halloween: Let’s Play Dead!

Skeleton dress up

For anyone who doesn’t know I LOVE Halloween! It is my favourite time of year!

This year though I didn’t want to spend loads on my costume like I have done in previous years but I also didn’t really want to recycle an old costume.

Completely stuck I was browsing Boohoo and came across a skeleton dress (I tried to link it but it no longer seems to be on the website) and an idea was born. The dress fits nicely the only problem I would say is the design was cracking before I even had it on and it has got worse since but I will only be wearing it this year hopefully since I'm doing slimming world and hoping it wont fit next year!

This is just a test of the make-up and I know it doesn’t look the best but I thought I would show you it anyways. I’m sure after Saturday when the party is Ill have some photos to share of the actual make up I do.

I did just have a skull face with the initial idea of putting blood along the edge but I forgot to get fake blood so this may be something I add tomorrow we’ll see.

The trick is to use your actual bone structure as an indicator for where you should have black for the hollow spaces. It took me a few attempts to get this to look okay so I’d say keep baby wipes handy!

For the teeth I used my own teeth as a guide and then just filled in the spaces with more white.

Overall this does take a while to do but it was unbelievable cheap as all I had to do is buy the dress which I will totally wear again and some white face paint. For the black I just used make up.

Here's the products I used but you can use whatever works for you really.

A little optional extra which I didn’t have when I took these photos but do now is white-out contact lenses. These just add to the creepiness of the look and I love them.

Hope you like this look. Id love to hear your comments and know what you’re going as for Halloween!
Happy Halloween
